This rump steak recipe is hearty, savory and flavorful! The beef is so juicy and tender. This quick and easy recipe takes less than 20 minutes total. Great for holidays, family dinners, BBQs and more!

Ingredients

  • 2 rump steaks
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter or ghee
  • fresh herbs to garnish

Instructions

  1. First, pat steak dry with paper towels. Season on both sides with sea salt and pepper.
  2. Add avocado oil to a skillet over medium high heat. Once oil is hot, add steaks to the pan.
  3. Cook for 2 minutes. Then, flip steaks. Add the butter to the pan. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Remove steaks from pan. Allow steaks to rest for 5 minutes to lock in the juices.
  5. Finally, serve with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh rump steak.
  • If you only have frozen, thaw completely.
  • Only a little bit of sea salt and pepper is needed in terms of seasoning.

  • Use a meat thermometer to accurately read temperature of steak.
  • Depending on the thickness of your steak, cooking times may vary.
  • Allow the meat to rest after cooking.  This makes it extra juicy.
