This super easy Vegan Salted Caramel is smooth, creamy, and so delicious! It is made with just a few healthy ingredients and it is made without corn syrup. This peanut butter caramel is great on popcorn, ice cream, or by the spoonful!

Ingredients
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a skillet over low medium heat.
- Continue whisking for 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce is thoroughly mixed.
- Once sauce reaches desired consistency, remove from heat. This caramel will thicken the more it cooks.
- Finally, pour into a jar.
- Once sauce has cooled, place lid on jar and store.
Notes
- Use creamy peanut butter that is made with ONLY peanuts. Peanut butter with added sugars or oils will yield much different results.
- I highly recommend Teddy's creamy peanut butter.
- If your peanut butter is salted, consider omitting the sea salt.
- Continuously whisk to prevent burning.
- Caramel sauce will thicken the longer it cooks. Turn off heat when desired consistency is reached.
- Store at room temperature.
- This sauce is delicious when stored in the fridge, but it will thicken up considerably. Allow to sit at room temperature before using.
- This recipe yields approximately 1 cup of caramel sauce.
