Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. You can leave the skin on for extra flavour and texture. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds or strips, depending on your preference.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the potato slices, olive oil, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Toss everything together until the potatoes are evenly coated with the seasonings.
  4. Arrange the seasoned potato slices on a baking tray in a single layer, making sure they are not crowded. This will help them bake evenly and become crispy.
  5. Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the chips are golden brown and crisp. Make sure to flip them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
  6. Once the chips are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle with a pinch of salt while they're still hot. This will enhance the flavours.
  7. Let the baked chips cool for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Enjoy your homemade baked chips as a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional fried chips!

Notes

  • You can adjust the seasoning quantities to suit your taste. If you like them spicier, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder.
  • These baked chips are great on their own but also pair wonderfully with your favourite dipping sauces like ketchup, aioli, or ranch dressing.
