Hong Kong Milk Tea Popsicles

Hong Kong Milk Tea Popsicles blend strong brewed black tea with sweetened condensed milk, then freeze the mixture into refreshing frozen treats. The rich, creamy texture contrasts the robust tea flavor, offering a chilling and lightly sweetened dessert ideal for warm weather.

Description

This recipe makes popsicles using black tea brewed to a strong strength typical of Hong Kong milk tea. The tea leaves steep in boiling water for five minutes, then the infusion is strained to yield about 250ml of liquid. Sweetened condensed milk is stirred into the tea, lending a thick sweetness and creamy mouthfeel. Once mixed and cooled, the milk tea is poured into popsicle molds and frozen for several hours until solid.

The finished popsicles feature the distinctive bittersweet aroma of black tea softened by the rich condensed milk's creamy sweetness. The popsicles have a smooth texture that melts evenly, balancing mild bitterness and sweetness. The method includes specific steps on adding popsicle sticks, especially noting the order for silicone molds.

These popsicles offer a convenient handheld way to enjoy the flavors of Hong Kong milk tea in frozen form, making them suitable for cooling off on hot days or serving as a novel dessert.
