Ketchup Rice ケチャップライス

Friday Fried rice : Ketchup rice contemporary fried rice recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 200 g chicken meat
- 1/2 onion
- 1/2 carrots
- 1/4 cup frozen peas thawed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut the chicken meat into bite size pieces and set aside.
- Dice the onion and carrots and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan and cook the chicken meat.
- When the chicken meat changes colour and has cooked, add the onion and carrot to the frying pan and cook.
- Add the cooked rice and ketchup to the frying pan. Stir and turn the rice over constantly with a wooden spatula until the rice is evenly coated with ketchup and is well separated.
- Add the green peas to the frying pan and stir.
- Add salt and pepper to taste and serve in a bowl or a plate.
Notes
- This ketchup rice can be wrapped up with fried egg to make Omurice.
