Lightly breaded and extra crispy, our onion rings are just the way we like them - and they're ready in only 30 minutes!

Ingredients
- 1 large vidalia onion
- 1 quart Canola oil, for frying
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk, or as needed
- 1 large egg
- 2-3 cups Panko bread crumbs
- ⅛ teaspoon seasoned salt, or to taste

Instructions
- Heat oil in deep fryer to 365°F. Place a wire rack over a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Slice onion into ¼-inch-thick rings. Soak in ice water for a few minutes.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt to a shallow dish. Add egg and milk to another shallow dish. Add breadcrumbs and seasoned salt to the last shallow dish.
- In small batches, place a few onion rings into the flour mixture making sure to coat. Then, add this to the egg mixture making sure to coat letting the excess liquid come off, then place in the breadcrumb mixture turning to coat. Place on the wire rack and continue to coat all onion rings.
- Fry onions in a deep fryer for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown. Drain onions on a paper towel-lined plate and continue to fry until all onions are done.
- Serve warm with ranch or marinara.
Notes
- Recipe Tips
- Air fryer. Spray the coated onion rings with cooking oil and place them in a single layer in an air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F for 8 to 12 minutes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer set at 350°F until warm and crispy.

- Don't cut onions too thin or coat too thick.
- Be sure the oil temperature is 365°F.
- Vidalia onions are best. Soak in ice water for crispier rings.
