Ingredients
- 3-4 pounds sirloin tip roast
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons steak seasoning
- 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.
- Combine your garlic salt, black pepper, onion powder, and steak seasoning in a small bowl.
- Rub the seasoning all over the roast.
- Heat an oven-proof skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and sear the beef on both sides for 2-3 minutes until brown.
- Place the pan and roast in the oven for 1 hour 20 minutes.
- Turn the oven off and leave the roast in for an additional 40 minutes without opening the door.
- When the 40 minutes are up, remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- I like Montreal steak seasoning, but you can use your favorite blend.
- When it comes to cooking meat, temperature is super important. For a sirloin tip roast, you'll want to aim for an internal temperature of at least 135°F for medium-rare. Use a meat thermometer to make sure you've got it just right. Remember, undercooked meat is a food safety issue.
- Once cooked, let your roast rest for at least 15 minutes before cutting into it. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
