These smoked BBQ beans are loaded with delicious flavor. These smoked BBQ baked beans are completely from scratch but so easy to make.

Ingredients
- 1 onion chopped fine
- 10 slices Bacon
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- salt and pepper
- 5 ½ cups water plus extra as needed
- 1 pound dried navy beans 2 ½ cups, picked over and rinsed
- ¾ cup barbecue sauce
- ½ cup brewed coffee
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- hot sauce to taste (optional)

Instructions
- Gather all the ingredients needed
- Microwave onion, bacon, garlic, oil, and ½ teaspoon salt in bowl, stirring occasionally, until onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add onion and bacon mixture to a heat safe pan.
- Stir in water, beans, ¼ cup barbecue sauce, coffee, and bay leaves.
- Smoke at 200 degrees for 5 hours
- Discard bay leaves. Stir in vinegar, mustard, and remaining ¼ cup barbecue sauce.
- Smoke for an additional hour
- Serve and enjoy.
