Instructions
- Start by spreading the cream cheese evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Then spread the green mint cilantro chutney as a second layer over the cream cheese.
- Cut the avocados into half, make cuts with a knife and scoop out the avocado with a spoon. Then place the slices over the chutney arranging them evenly on the bread.
- Add the seasonings of chaat masala or salt and black pepper.
- Cover the slice of bread with another slice that is also coated with the cheese and chutney.
- Repeat the same process to make more sandwiches.
- These avocado chutney sandwiches taste best when you have them immediately
To make avocado toast sandwich
- If you like grilled sandwiches, then pop these sandwiches onto the skillet. Butter them on both sides to get that distinct crunch and keep turning them till they become brown. In case, you have a standalone grill, then it is even better.
- You can also add cheese slices to make it like an avocado chutney grilled cheese sandwich.
Notes
- Vegan Variation: To make it vegan skip the cream cheese.
- Spread/Chutney Options: Green Cilantro Chutney is a staple used in Indian chats, and here is my favorite recipe for it. You can substitute store-bought pesto or make homemade pesto to vary the taste of this sandwich. We also love Zhoug Sauce from Trader Joes. It works great if you want a quick replacement for this chutney.
- Add more veggies:
- You can also add some veggies to make this sandwich to make it even healthier. Some options are:
- Spinach
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Cucumber
- Red onions
- Alfalfa sprouts
