Baked Potato on the Grill

Making baked potatoes on the grill is great for all sorts of summertime meals!

Ingredients
- 4 medium size potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or other oil
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium heat (about 375 degrees F or 190 degrees C).
- Wash and dry the potatoes and pierce them all over with a fork.
- Rub oil over the potatoes and sprinkle salt all over them.
- Wrap potatoes individually in aluminum foil in two layers making sure there are no exposed spots.
- Poke holes in the wrapped spuds again.
- Place on the hot grill and grill for about 45 minutes or until easily pierced with a paring knife or skewer.
- Let them rest for a few minutes, then unwrap the foil and serve.
Notes
- Make sure to preheat grill before cooking your taties, for the best results.
- Try to grill equally sized russet potatoes, so that they cook at the same rate.
- Turn them over once during cooking so they cook evenly.
- Make sure to keep the grill lid closed as much as you can during cooking so that the temperature stays as even as possible (like you would for an oven).
- Make sure each entire potato is well oiled and seasoned.
- If your spuds are undercooked then grill for a bit longer.
- Done potatoes are super hot, so please use tongs to carefully transfer them to a plate before serving.
- Storage - keep in an airtight container inside the fridge for 5 days.
