Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1¾ cup water
- 1½ cup milk
Instructions
- Add the rolled oats, maple syrup, vanilla, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, brown sugar, molasses, and water to a saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes while stirring frequently.
- Lower the heat and stir in the milk.
- Continue to stir and simmer on low for another 4 to 5 minutes or until the oatmeal has thickened to your liking.
- Serve as is or with your topping of choice.
