Quick and easy to make large Belgian waffles with just oat flour.

Ingredients

  • 1 1 cup gf oat flour or grind any kind of rolled oats yourself
  • ¾ ¾ cups gf oat flour
  • 2 2 teaspoons baking powder (corn + aluminum free) your waffles will be a bit bigger and fluffier
  • ¼ ¼ cup coconut flower sugar or more to taste
  • honey
  • ⅔ cups water
  • ½ ½ cup water
  • ½ ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • maple syrup
  • and/or ¼ and/or ¼ teaspoons Bourbon vanilla powder or extract
  • Fresh fruits
  • 2 2 pinches celtic sea salt or to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour with the baking powder, sugar and spices (if you use them).
  2. Mix in the water until it forms a thick batter. Set aside to let it go thicken a bit.
  3. Warm up your waffle maker.
  4. Add in the batter. Half of the batter will form one large waffle, so you can make two with this recipe.
  5. Close the lid, you can push it down gently but don't put a lot of pressure on it. There has to be a slight opening to let the steam out and give the batter a change to rise.
  6. After 7 minutes you can take your waffles out. Use a small wooden spatula to loosen them if necessary.
  7. Serve with your favourite toppings.
